“They really locked in”
As we come to the end of what’s been a busy year for Xbox first-party releases, one company in particular is getting special praise for their output in 2025, having released three separate (and major!) games over the past 12 months.
That company is Obsidian, which gave us Avowed back in February, Grounded 2 back in July, and The Outer Worlds 2 back in October. Here’s a look at Xbox’s celebratory post on social media about this:
In our recent Pure Xbox Game of the Year roundup, Obsidian actually took two of the top five spots based on your votes, with The Outer Worlds 2 finishing in fourth and Avowed finishing in second. Very impressive stuff!
Below, we’ll give you another chance to vote on your favourite new Obsidian game of 2025, and here’s hoping we’ll continue to see content for all three titles in 2026!
