Sparkle has called out her niece, Reshona Landfair, for her “false statements” and said she never instructed Landfair to sit on R. Kelly‘s lap when she was a child.

Sparkle Calls Out Niece Reshona Landfair For “False Statements” – Says She Never Told Her To Sit On R. Kelly’s Lap
Earlier this week, Instagram user @livebitez shared footage from what appears to be a recent livestream of Sparkle’s. In the clip, the singer told viewers, “… Not all that you heard yesterday from my niece is true.” To note, Sparkle appeared to be referencing Landfair’s recent sitdown with CBS News.
“I don’t want to hinder this legal process — I don’t. But to testify that I had my niece sit on Robert’s lap and rub his head, and have her ask him to be her godfather is an absolute f*****g lie,” she continued. “You all cannot imagine the hurt that comes from pain caused by the people that you live and are willing to die for.”
From there, Sparkle addressed “another lie,” and stated that she and R. Kelly “were never in a romantic relationship.”
“To show you that sabotage is a high priority within them — if Robert and I were in a romantic relationship, you and your mom were cool with you starting a relationship with him?” Sparkle asked, referencing Landfair and her mother.
Ultimately, Sparkle shared that she started her defense of Reshona Landfair with “the greatest of intention.” But all she’s received in return is hell. Additionally, she noted that Landfair’s “false statements” don’t “bother” her because she’s used to her words falling on deaf ears. However, she’s alarmed by Landfair’s willingness to lie.
“I’m certain it’s from her mom,” Sparkle said. “… But she’s now old enough to start bearing some level of responsibility of her actions. I love her more than life itself, so this is all I’m going to say regarding her and her mother — unless I have to.”

More On Reshona Landfair & Her Connection To R. Kelly
As The Shade Room previously reported, last month, Reshona Landfair began promoting her memoir, ‘Who’s Watching Shorty? Reclaiming Myself from the Shame of R. Kelly’s Abuse.’ Since then, Landfair appeared on CBS Mornings and alleged that Sparkle introduced her to Kelly and instructed her to sit on his lap, rub her head, and ask him to be her godfather.
This reportedly began the cycle of Kelly inappropriately touching her and them filming an NSFW tape when she was only 14 years old. Years later, the tape would circulate nationwide.
At the time, Sparkle reacted to her niece’s sitdown by saying that she supports Landfair but hopes “accountability” will come from those “closest to her.”
