The U.S. Marshals are now working with the Albuquerque Police Department to arrest Timothy Busfield, three days after a warrant was issued for his arrest on child sexual abuse charges. “Albuquerque Police Department is working with the U.S. Marshal Service to get Mr. Busfield into custody,” APD spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos shared with Deadline. He has not been arrested yet. Busfield reportedly lives in Upstate New York with his wife, Melissa Gilbert.
On January 9, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Busfield; he allegedly sexually abused two boys who were actors on the set of The Cleaning Lady from November 2022 to Spring 2024. A doctor in New Mexico first told the police about the sexual abuse in November 2024, and after discussing with an attorney and doctors over the past year, the children’s parents filed a police report in October 2025. The children told police that Busfield, who was a director on the show, asked the kids to call him Uncle Tim and would touch them inappropriately on set. One child claimed the abuse began when he was seven years old.
