SustainabilityPlus’ rundown of the most sustainable businesses in the gaming industry sees online operators break into the top 10, after the inaugural 2024 list was almost exclusively made up of brick-and-mortar businesses and suppliers.

The company’s Four Pillars of Sustainability approach reflects substantial efforts in renewables expansion, facility refurbishments and a robust focus on responsible gambling. With clear momentum carrying into 2026, Aristocrat remains strongly positioned in its competitive pursuit of the number one ranking.

3. Everi Holdings Inc (acquired by Apollo in July 2025) – Score 4.01 

Marking a significant climb from sixth spot last year, Everi demonstrates strong advancement in its sustainability trajectory. The company showcases meaningful initiatives including facility consolidation, deployment of 100% renewable energy at third-party data centres, and component refurbishment strategies that drive waste reduction and carbon footprint improvements.

The ownership transition presents an opportunity and a challenge to build upon foundational achievements in 2026 and beyond.

4. Wynn Resorts – Score 4.00 

Wynn maintains its fourth-place position in the Top 10 while achieving considerable score improvement. The company has established ambitious climate goals, with its resorts advancing renewable energy deployment, improving waste diversion to over 40% at Wynn Las Vegas, and committing to net-zero operations alongside expanded community and animal-welfare initiatives.

Concurrent development activity in the UAE where the company is expected to maintain its sustainability standards positions the company well for a planned 2027 opening.

5. Light & Wonder Inc – Score 3.99 

Light & Wonder demonstrates significant progress and advances four positions in the rankings. 10. Playtech PLC – Score 3.94 

Playtech remains competitive at the number 10 position, maintaining strategic focus on sustainability as a business priority. The company’s “Sustainable Success” framework addresses safer gambling, climate action, inclusion and community engagement with measurable targets including 50.4% cuts in Scope 1-3 emissions by 2032, and net-zero attainment by 2040.
