To celebrate the fifth anniversary of her breakout hit “drivers license,” Olivia Rodrigo drops a vinyl featuring a cover version by David Byrne.

Olivia Rodrigo released “drivers license” on January 8, 2020, a song that rapidly became a pop culture phenomenon and secured her place as a force to be reckoned with in pop music. Now, the artist is celebrating that milestone with a 7-inch vinyl featuring a cover version of the song as sung by David Byrne of Talking Heads fame.

The 7-inch single, which is available for preorder on Rodrigo’s website, is pressed on translucent ruby vinyl. It features “drivers license” as sung by David Byrne, the former frontman of legendary new wave band Talking Heads. David joined Olivia onstage last year during Governors Ball to sing the Talking Heads classic, “Burning Down the House,” a live recording that also appears on the vinyl’s B-side. The record ships on April 3, but the David Byrne cover is available now on streaming platforms.

Rodrigo noted that David’s recording—which changes the lyrics from “blonde girl” to “blond boy”—is just one of several “reimagined” cover versions that will drop to celebrate the forthcoming fifth anniversary of her debut album, SOUR, on May 21.

“We’re starting off insanely strong with an incredible reworking of ‘drivers license’ from one of my all-time heroes, David Byrne,” wrote Rodrigo on social media. “David is nothing short of a legend, and I actually cried when I heard his version of this song.”

Other merch to celebrate Olivia’s fifth anniversary is available for preorder on her website, including shirts featuring a mock driver’s license for Rodrigo, a heart-shaped locket, a charm, keychain, hat, jacket, and more.

Fans can also pick up a Target exclusive 4-inch Tiny Vinyl featuring Olivia’s original version of “drivers license” on one side and her live Governors Ball performance on the other.
