Jenna Bush Hager recalls daughter’s ‘dark’ reaction to ‘Cinderella’

Jenna Bush Hager’s daughter had a “dark” reaction to the Disney movie “Cinderella.”
The talk show host recalled the experience while chatting about her daughers Mila, 12, and Poppy, 10, with guest host Andy Cohen on Monday’s episode of the “Today” show.
The conversation kicked off with Cohen criticizing the popular princess film, which was released in 1950.
“It’s 52 minutes of cat and mouse play. I want more of the evil stepsisters and Cinderella glamming up and less of the cat and mice,” Cohen said.
Bush Hager then weighed in to explain her daughters’ strange experience with the movie, in which Cinderella is orphaned, and lives with her evil stepmother and stepsisters.
“When my kids were little, my girls would watch so many of those things that they just assumed I was going to die,” Bush Hager said.
The proud mom, 44, said that her eldest daughter approached one of her NBC colleagues to express her fears.
“Mila came to work here, and Donna, adorable Donna who works here, she came up to Donna and goes, ‘When my mom dies, will you be my stepmother?’ It’s dark!” Bush Hager shared.
Jenna shares her daughters — as well as 7-year-old son Hal — with her husband, Henry Hager. (She and Henry tied the knot in 2008.)
Last month, Jenna revealed that she would have loved to have more children with Henry.
“I would have had 22 children… not 22,” she joked. “I had three, which feels like 21. I would have had one more. I would have rounded that out.”

When her co-star, Justin Sylvester, jumped in to suggest that she could still expand her family, she replied, “Yeah, it’s probably too late.
“It feels like that ship has sailed,” she said.
Jenna also discussed coming to terms with just having three children on the show in March.
“I’m pretty sure I’ve come to terms that three –– even though it’s an imperfect number –– is the perfect number for our household,” she said.
The former first daughter addressed her family dynamics shortly after sparking divorce rumors when she was seen without her wedding ring.
Jenna dismissed the gossip, telling viewers a month prior that she wasn’t wearing her ring because she injured her finger.
“Henry and I are still very happily married,” she confirmed.
