Written by on January 8, 2026

Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma don’t necessarily have the flashiest marriage in Hollywood—we don’t see them dominating the headlines in the way that some other couples do—but no one can say that these two aren’t willing to go to bat for each other. Even if that means posting headline-grabbing clap-backs to essays written by seemingly former friends.

Duff and Koma have been together since 2017, married since 2019, and have welcomed three daughters in addition to Duff’s son with ex-husband Mike Comrie. But their romance didn’t get off to the smoothest start; they were off and on a few times before they made the relationship stick for good. After all, these do seem to be pretty passionate people.

The image had Koma’s face photoshopped onto Tisdale’s body, with the headline, “When You’re the Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus to Their Actual Toddlers.” And subhead, “A Mom Group Tell All Through a Father’s Eyes.” He captioned the post, “Read my new interview with @TheCut.”

December 2025: Koma responds to speculation about the subject of Duff’s newest single, “Mature.” The internet has theorized that the song could be about Duff’s ex-boyfriend Joel Madden or even about Leonardo DiCaprio, who famously only dates women in their early to mid-20s.

In an Apple Music 1 interview with Duff, per E! News, Koma joked, “I think it could be about Bernie Sanders.”
