Elvis Presley is one of a handful of musical acts who passed away decades ago who manage to return to the Billboard charts every December thanks to the holiday music they recorded during their lifetime. Presley’s “Blue Christmas” stands out among the many, many holiday cuts, as it is not nearly as jolly as the majority of popular tunes in the field, and his The Classic Christmas Album becomes a winner again as the weather turns cold.

Presley sees both of those titles return to multiple Billboard charts this week, and another lesser-known recording also finds its way back to one roster as Americans get back into the holiday spirit and turn their attention to Presley’s catalog yet again.

“Blue Christmas” Reenters Several Billboard Charts

“Blue Christmas” is easily Presley’s most famous holiday tune, and it is the one that becomes the center of attention at the end of every year. “Blue Christmas” returns to both the Streaming Songs chart and the Billboard Global 200 this period, reentering those competitive tallies at Nos. 24 and 60, respectively.

Elvis Presley Almost Returns to No. 1

“Blue Christmas” can simultaneously be found on multiple other Billboard charts, and it is on the rise everywhere. Presley’s smash misses out on becoming a No. 1 hit again on the Rock Streaming Songs tally, as Billboard has classified it as a rock tune. “Blue Christmas” jumps from No. 5 to the runner-up spot on the list of the most successful rock songs on streaming platforms. This time around, Presley is blocked by another seasonal favorite, “Run Rudolph Run” by Chuck Berry.

“Blue Christmas” Remains Elvis Presley’s Only No. 1

In the past, “Blue Christmas” has already taken several turns ruling the Rock Streaming Songs chart. “Blue Christmas” remains Presley’s only leader on the tally, where it has dominated for six nonconsecutive frames. His only other two hits are both holiday-related, as “Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” peaked at Nos. 4 and 19, respectively.

Elvis Presley Soars on the Hot 100

In addition to the Rock Streaming Songs chart, “Blue Christmas” is also on the rise on several other competitive rosters. The track inches one space north on both the Holiday Streaming Songs list and the Holiday 100, settling at Nos. 20 and 21, respectively.

“Blue Christmas” returns to the top 40 on the Hot 100, the most important songs chart in America. Last week, Presley’s classic sat at No. 50, and at the moment, it is up to No. 31 — and the tune could ascend again in just a few days.

“O Little Town of Bethlehem” Returns as Well

Presley claims two hit tracks in America this frame. While most people are pressing play on “Blue Christmas,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem” breaks onto the Christian Streaming Songs chart. That religious-leaning recording is back at No. 20, and in the past, it has soared as high as No. 2.

The Classic Christmas Album Rockets Up the Billboard 200

Streams of “Blue Christmas,” as well as multiple other Presley holiday songs, help his The Classic Christmas Album become a big winner again in America. The compilation, released in 2012, rockets more than 100 spaces north on the Billboard 200, improving from No. 158 to No. 55.

Luminate reports that the album shifted another 17,050 equivalent units between streams and sales. That is up 78% from the period prior, when The Classic Christmas Album could not quite manage 10,000 copies.

Elvis Presley’s Christmas Album Returns to Several Billboard Charts

While The Classic Christmas Album enjoys its most impressive ascent on the Billboard 200, the compilation is on the up-and-up almost everywhere. The holiday project bolts into the top 10 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, surging from No. 34 to No. 9. At the same time, Presley’s release finds its way back to both the Top Rock Albums and Top Streaming Albums lists, reentering at Nos. 7 and 44, respectively.
