One of Conor McGregor’s closest confidants says the former two-division champion is about to put on an all-time great comeback performance.
Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor is potentially months away from making his first Octagon appearance in five years. McGregor, who hasn’t fought since injuring his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, has his eyes set on a return fight at the UFC’s upcoming White House event.
While the opponent for McGregor’s anticipated comeback hasn’t been finalized, that hasn’t stopped the superstar fighter from promising to be in top form when he returns to the cage. He’s seeking his first win since knocking out Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.
Many fans, fighters, and pundits are curious about what McGregor will look like after such a long hiatus from the cage. According to McGregor’s longtime business partner, expect your jaw to hit the floor in awe as he makes his return.
David Feldman: Conor McGregor ’10 times better’ than when he won two UFC titles
In a recent appearance on the Boys in the Back podcast, Bare Knuckle FC president David Feldman made a bold claim about McGregor’s highly-anticipated comeback.
“Let me tell you something,” Feldman said of McGregor.
“The best times ten Conor McGregor you’ve ever seen right now. Better than he was when he was in his prime. The most focused, just wants to do everything right. He’s training his ass off each and every day. He’s eating right, he’s going to church, he’s doing everything he’s supposed to do. This is not a Conor McGregor that we’ve seen in the past couple of years.
“This is the best Conor McGregor that I’ve personally ever seen and I’m talking on TV and everywhere,” Feldman continued on McGregor. “I’ve never seen a Conor McGregor like this, more focused than I ever thought he ever could get, but he is.” (h/t MMA Fighting)
Michael Chandler, Mauricio Ruffy, and Justin Gaethje are just a few names in the mix to fight opposite McGregor later this year. Chandler and McGregor competed as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter before they were supposed to fight at UFC 303, as McGregor withdrew due to injury.
