“I feel like I’m in a insane daze,” One Battle After Another‘s Chase Infiniti tells The Hollywood Reporter shortly after scoring her first Golden Globes nomination. “I can’t believe what’s happened.”

The 25-year-old is the breakout star of Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest feature, One Battle After Another, starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro. The film ended Monday morning’s Golden Globes nominations announcement leading all movies with a total of nine nominations, including Infiniti’s, best picture, director and screenwriter.

“Of course, I’m hopeful for the film to get love and continued support as it has been, which I feel so grateful that we have. But I definitely was really anxious going to sleep last night,” Infiniti says. “I tried to not think about it, but I tried to put as much positive energy and good energy out into the universe as I could. It was not just one emotion that was felt last night. Then this morning it’s been everything.”

The 25-year-old says of what she learned making the film, “One of the things that, as I look back on it now, is I’m definitely capable of more than I could have imagined, especially when I was shooting the film. I’m capable of a lot more than I could have imagined. But having it come out and then having people see it and whatnot, my biggest takeaway from that is I’ve been trying not to let anything pass me by.”

The actress also notes that just three years ago she was graduating college, and she couldn’t have imagined this. Infiniti says that also she feels “so blessed” to experience this success alongside her fellow cast and crew. DiCaprio, Taylor, Del Toro and Penn also received acting nominations in their respective categories. “These are people that I miss them when I am not around them, and I cherish all the memories that we’ve created together and I will continue to cherish every memory that we will create in the future,” she says.

Infiniti, the film’s primary Gen Z castmember, also seemed to spearhead a fun social media campaign, filming TikToks and short digital content with her collaborators like DiCaprio and Anderson. “I’m excited to continue that forward because I think it’s fun,” she says of the potential of bringing those TikToks into the award season. “I know that secretly deep down, they all find it fun. I know Leo actually enjoys it and know Paul actually enjoys it, and I know that they also enjoy that people resonate with it and they get to enjoy watching it.”

For the young actress, she’s just planning to take in as much of this awards experience as she can. “I’m going to take every day as it comes, and I’m going to cherish every moment because I know that I’ll blink and it’ll be over,” Infiniti says. “This is an opportunity that I feel so lucky that I get to have, but it’s also something that I’ve longed for so long, and I really want to make sure that I take in every moment that I can.”
