Britney Spears Says She “Will Never Perform In The U.S. Again,” Citing “Extremely Sensitive Reasons”

Written by on January 10, 2026

Nearly five years after her conservatorship ended, Britney Spears is not planning to perform again in the United States.

While praising her son’s musical talent and expressing hopes to perform with him someday, the Grammy winner noted that no such onstage appearance will take place in the US, but she will possibly take the stage in the UK or Australia “very soon.”

“Sending this piano to my son this year!!!” she captioned a photo of herself performing at the 29th American Music Awards in 2002. “Interestingly enough, I dance on IG to heal things in my body that people have no idea about. Yup and it’s embarrassing sometimes… but I walked through the fire to save my life…”

Spears continued, “I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son… in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon. He’s a huge star and I’m so humbled to be in his presence!!! God speed, little man!!!”

The Glory artist has previously shared a video of her son Jayden playing piano. She shares sons Jayden and Sean with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Although Spears might not perform on stage in the US anytime soon, fans can look forward to an upcoming Jon M. Chu-helmed biopic about the pop icon, based on her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me. Still in development as of last year, Chu noted that Spears will be “very involved” in the project.
