A Star Brighter than the Sun Anime Shares First Trailer, Start Date

A date is in place for the A Star Brighter than the Sun anime, which was announced as an adaptation of Kazune Kawahara’s manga of the same name (Taiyo Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi in Japanese) back in February. The latest from the author of My Love Story!! heads to TV screens in Japan on October 2, and you can see how it’s shaping up in the first full trailer below.

The opening song was also revealed along with a handful of cast members. Motohiro Hata will perform the opening song, which is titled “Stellar Days.”

Mutsumi Tamura as Mio Kagawa

Ryota Osaka as Yushin Izawa

Aya Kobayashi (Vinland Saga) directs the anime, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) on scripts, Jin Feng Zeng on character designs and Natsumi Tabuchi and Miki Sakurai on music for the Studio KAI production.
The A Star Brighter than the Sun manga runs in Bessatsu Margaret magazine, with VIZ Media preparing top publish it in English. Here’s the official synopsis:

Sae and Koki have been friends since childhood. One fateful day at the end of middle school, she has a revelation: Koki has grown up!
