New ‘Evangelion’ Anime Series Announced

The final program of the “EVANGELION:30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION” event announced a new anime series for the Evangelion franchise on Monday, revealing the main staff.

Shinseiki Evangelion (Neon Genesis Evangelion), a original television anime series produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production, aired in Fall 1995. Shinseiki Evangelion Movie: Air/Magokoro wo, Kimi ni (Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion) was released in 1997 to provide the alternate ending to the anime series. The anime series was licensed by GKIDS, with streaming available on multiple platforms.

Between 2007 and 2021, Rebuild of Evangelion, a four-film retailing of the series with new plot elements and a different ending, was released by Khara.

A manga adaptation of original series by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, began serialization in December 1994 and concluded in June 2013, spanning 14 volumes.
