Trailer Showcases ‘Brabus: One Second Wow’; Premiere Date Set For Luxury Car Brand Series On Prime Video

EXCLUSIVE: Here’s a trailer for Brabus: One Second Wow, the documentary series about the German luxury car brand.

Furthermore, the Prime Video has revealed the show, from Leonine Studios-owned i&u Studios, will launch on February 26 in Germany, the U.S., the UK, Australia and Canada. Leonine sold the doc to the Amazon streamer and is shopping it elsewhere.

The six-parter will provide insight into the high-end supercar world, and the team at Brabus that makes and markets the vehicles and other lifestyle brand goods. In particular, it follows Brabus’ young CEO and owner Constantin Buschmann, whose standards for the company and himself are uncompromisingly high.

As the trailer begins, we hear him say, “It wasn’t enough for me. I felt like we could do more.” Later, after a series of shots where things look bright for a new car launch, Buschmann is seen looking despondent on the phone, saying, “I just want a fucking result.”

The series sees Brabus key staff gearing up for an industry’s annual flagship event: The brand’s own supercar fashion show, where the next collection is unveiled before more than 1,000 guests from around the world.

Shooting for the series took place in Los Angeles, Milan, Cannes and Dubai, as well as at the company’s headquarters in Bottrop, Germany, where Brabus has developed and built high-end supercars, motorcycles and boats since 1977.

Buschmann, who succeeded his father, Brabus founder Constantin Buschmann, as CEO, is at the center of the show. The series will follow him and his partner, Brabus Creative Director Mili Umicevic, as they navigate life as a power couple in the luxury automotive world. Celebrity clients and business partners will feature.

Buschmann said: “Imagine giving 150 percent, day in and day out, for years – driving flat out to take a real company into the future; A company where things truly matter every single day, where you and your team are responsible for putting food on families’ tables at the end of each month, and one your father quite literally devoted his life to building.

“Nearly 50 years of history; a business spanning from Bottrop to Los Angeles. Thousands of opinions, sleepless nights and countless responsibilities that come with being a CEO – all included. And then, suddenly, there are cameras around every day, and someone says, ‘Since we’re already rolling, maybe you could also share a few private moments as a couple…’ Sounds perfectly reasonable – what could possibly go wrong?”

Christian Meinberger, producer of the series and Chief Digital Officer of Leonine Studios, said: “With Brabus: One Second Wow, we are not only telling the story of a modern German luxury brand, but also opening up a new perspective on the world behind BRABUS. In producing the series, we are particularly proud of the hybrid storytelling approach we establish with this format.

“This innovative docu-reality concept combines the depth of a brand-driven documentary with the immediacy and lightness of a personality-driven lifestyle series. The result is a portrait of a truly owner-led company – with all its facets, presented as openly and accessibly as never before.”

Christian Meinberger is the producer on the series, with Philip Grabow serving as executive producer. Martina Hänsel (Star Kitchen) is the director. Producer i&u Studios makes shows such as Small vs Tall and the Grimme Prize-winning Teddy Teclebrhan Show. It is part of Leonine Studios, which in turn is owned by France’s Mediawan. Last week, Mediawan struck a deal to buy Love Is Blind maker The North Road Company from Peter Chernin.
