Apple Music is offering three free months to PlayStation Plus members, with discounted versions available to returning Apple Music subscribers.
In a final year-end push to entice new subscribers, Apple has teamed up with Sony to offer three months of Apple Music for free to PlayStation Plus members. However, the price will depend on whether you’ve had an Apple Music subscription before and how much that cost—but the offer is still heavily discounted.
To redeem the offer, users need to be a PlayStation Plus member and have an Apple account (you can create one at this point if you don’t already have one) but not have an active Apple Music subscription. Then, follow these steps:
- From your PlayStation 5 search bar, download the Apple Music app; it can be found in All Apps under Media
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions
- Sign in with your Apple account to redeem the offer
Users on Reddit pointed out that if you already have an active Apple Music subscription or are already using a free trial, the offer doesn’t appear to work. Also, some users noted that their offer wasn’t free, but was still heavily discounted.
Considering that the Apple Music standard individual plan costs $10.99 a month, three free months is a generous offer worth over $30. Apple appears to be targeting gamers comfortable with subscriptions by limiting the offer to PlayStation+ subscribers—while also going after the largest demographic of console gamers. Around 45% of gamers who own a console own a PlayStation 5, far outpacing Microsoft’s rival console the Xbox (23%).
Apple Music has been making a big push this month to gain new subscribers. Last week, General Motors announced the direct integration of Apple Music into select vehicles’ infotainment systems. The service is already available in the 2025 and 2026 Cadillac CT5, and the 2026 Corvette, Suburban, and Tahoe. The integration is expected to arrive in the ‘27 Chevy Bolt, as well as Buick and GMC vehicles.
