Police observed Teveraishe stop at the Chivi turn-off along the Masvingo–Beitbridge Road, where he picked up Barure before proceeding to Chivi New Stands.
Barure was seen entering his residence and returning to the vehicle carrying a cardboard box. The pair then drove back towards the Chivi turn-off, where Barure was dropped off
Drugs Found Hidden in Vehicle
Officers immediately intercepted Teveraishe’s vehicle and conducted a search, which led to the recovery of two wrapped plastic bags of dagga concealed in the front bonnet and another bag hidden beneath the driver’s seat.
Second Suspect Tracked and Arrested
Although Barure initially evaded arrest, police tracked him to Chivi Growth Point, where he was apprehended. A subsequent search of his residence resulted in the recovery of an additional sachet of dagga.
