David Geffen’s estranged husband accuses him of cheaping out on spousal support payments of $50,000 a month, far less than the couple spent together.

David Armstrong, better known as Donovan Michaels, the estranged husband of music mogul David Geffen, has filed new documents in the couple’s highly publicized divorce. According to newly-filed court documents, Armstrong alleges that Geffen is chintzing out on his spousal support, only offering a fraction of what he actually spent while they were married.

Since the couple allegedly spent over $3 million every month on living expenses while they were together, Armstrong believes he has a right to maintain the lifestyle to which he has become accustomed. And that’s not possible on the $50,000 a month that Geffen is offering.

Armstrong also takes issue with Geffen’s request to only pay spousal support for a few more months. His filing notes that the mogul is worth around $8.9 billion and asserts that Geffen still works as a “venture capitalist, high-level investor, and power broker,” despite the 82-year-old’s claims that he is retired.

Just like Armstrong’s earlier complaints, Thursday’s filing also alludes to past “physical, emotional, and psychological harm” that Geffen allegedly caused when Armstrong was “a vulnerable young foster care graduate” in the early days of their courtship.

Geffen’s legal team’s rebuttal, spearheaded by attorney Laura Wasser, points out that he’s already paid Armstrong $400,000 since they separated. Further, Geffen is still allowing Armstrong rent-free access to his $15,000-a-month New York City apartment. His team adds that Geffen is working hard to settle the divorce and accuses Armstrong of attempting to delay proceedings.

Geffen filed for divorce over the summer after less than two years of marriage; the couple had not entered into a prenuptial agreement. Armstrong filed a civil suit against Geffen last spring, but dropped the case only last month. Bryan Freedman, Armstrong’s attorney, told TMZ that both sides were seeking to resolve the remainder of their financial conflicts in mediation.
