Thai Street Vibes Bring Bangkok Buzz to Beijing Road

Bangkok came to Beijing Road last weekend as Thai Street Vibes turned Guangzhou’s busiest shopping strip into a full‑blown Thai block party, all in celebration of 50 years of China–Thailand diplomatic ties.

For two days (August 30–31), the Royal Thai Consulate‑General in Guangzhou swapped out the usual retail rush for a sensory overload of Thai sights, sounds, and flavours.

More than 30 stalls dished up everything from mango sticky rice to hand‑crafted souvenirs, while the main stage kept the energy high with Muay Thai bouts, traditional dance, and live sets from rising Thai stars Mintty and Chai Klang.

Crowds jumped between cooking demos, DIY craft corners, prize‑winning games, and a special exhibition charting half a century of friendship.

The vibe was pure Thailand — a mash‑up of timeless tradition and the country’s buzzing creative scene — right in the heart of South China.

At the opening, Mr. Kajtiti Wiwatwanont, Royal Thai Consul‑General, called the two nations ‘one family’, spotlighting Guangdong’s role as a powerhouse for trade, tech, and tourism, and hinting that Thai Street Vibes could become a regular date on Guangzhou’s cultural calendar.
