Northbrook police blotter: Windows shattered and cash registers stolen from two Waukegan Road businesses

The following items were taken from Northbrook Police Department reports, news release and records. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
DUI
Richard L. Denizov of Glenview was charged with charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding Jan. 1. Police clocked Denizov driving 42 mph in a 35 mph zone stopping him in the 1300 block of Shermer Road. He failed a field sobriety test. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court Jan. 25 in Skokie.
Flavio Medina Ortiz of Northfield was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle Dec. 31. He was stopped near the intersection of Willow Road and Westleigh Drive. He failed a field sobriety test. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court Jan. 30 in Skokie.
INVALID LICENSE
Nikko A. Gabor of Chicago was charged with driving with a suspended license and driving with a defective taillight Jan. 4. Police stopped him in the 2500 block of Willow Road after observing the defective taillight and discovered his license was suspended. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court Jan. 25 in Skokie.
THEFT
Diminnieon O. Martin of North Chicago was charged with theft Dec. 31. He was arrested after staff at a retail store in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road saw him take a pair of pants and leave the store without paying. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court Jan. 30 in Skokie.
Two women and a man entered a retail business in the 100 block of Skokie Blvd. took several handbags and left the store without paying Dec. 30. Before fleeing, two of the alleged perpetrators struck and shoved store personnel attempting to stop them.
Two men entered a retail business in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, took a pair of shoes and left the store without paying Jan. 3.
BURGLARY
The staff of a business in the 800 block of Waukegan Road reported the front window of the establishment was shattered and the cash register missing Jan. 2. No money was missing.

A person reported an unknown individual or individuals entered their vehicle in the 1700 block of Illinois Road taking a purse containing money and a phone charger Dec. 30.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
The owner of a retail business in the 1900 block of Techny Road reported a man purchased merchandise with a check Jan. 4. The business owner learned from the bank the check was not good. The person whose name was on the check reported their name was compromised.
IDENTITY THEFT
A person reported Jan. 4 receiving an alert on his credit report an unknown individual or individuals opened three credit card accounts in his name.
